Busy Times

The last couple of weeks have been busy ones in Soldier and at the Community Club. Labor Day weekend saw the annual migration of motorcycles thru town for our big "party of the year". The community club was the site of the wonderful chicken dinner served by the Soldier Lutheran Church on Saturday night before Labor Day, and the club members hosted a late night breakfast for the audience at the main event on Sunday night, selling out of biscuits and gravy in record time. All went well and we are looking forward to next year!

This past weekend, another annual tradition began taking shape: our second garage sale, with a city-wide sale scheduled for the same day. Last year we hosted the highway 183 sale, and this year we focused on Soldier, with several local families and businesses taking part. The community club provided publicity for town sales including a map for only $2, and charged $10 per table. Additionally, breakfast and lunch were served. Final numbers aren't in yet, but it appeared to be a very successful weekend. Thanks to all who exhibited with a table, purchased ad space for their home sales, and a special thanks to all the customers who came and shopped the sales!

Tuesday night, September 11, 2007 is the next Community Club meeting at 7 p.m. in the Community Building. Come join us.
